Morning Anchor-Multimedia Journalist
KXII News 12 is seeking a dual threat employee to serve as morning co-anchor and multimedia journalist. General responsibilities include:
Co-anchor 2-hour weekday morning newscast
?Serve as breaking news reporter during morning shift
?Report daily at end of AM newscast and turn story for PM casts
?Fill-in anchor as needed when primary morning/midday anchor is out
?Possess great live reporting skills for field anchoring and breaking news
?Help post digital content (news stories, interview segments, social media, etc.)
?Appear at various community events that may occur outside normal shift
?Serve as mentor and teacher to young reporters and producers
Qualifications are:
Prior anchoring and on-air reporting experience preferred, but not required. Please include a link to your demo reel in your application. The right candidate will have the ability to anchor every type of story, be a strong and willing multimedia journalist, help produce the morning and midday newscasts as needed, write great copy, edit video, and be a leader in the newsroom. Must possess strong writing and information gathering skills, be a quick thinker ready for anything, and have strong ad-lib abilities. College degree in related field preferred.
