Commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day at the Eisenhower Birthplace State H
The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site will be commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day on Saturday, June 7. The Activities will begin at 8:00 with a flag raising ceremony, performed by the Texoma Composite Squadron Tx-262 Civil Air Patrol. A reading of the names of 1007 June 6th casualties will begin at 8:15, the names of the fallen will be read by local veterans. Following the reading of the names will be a wreath laying at 10:00am (Wreath donated by Judy?s Flower Shop, Denison, Texas). A showing of the movie ?Countdown to D-Day ?, featuring Tom Sellek will begin at 11:30 in the Red Store. Free Tours of the Eisenhower Birthplace will be available at 10:30 and 1:15.
