Job Description
KXII-TV News 12 is seeking a morning news producer for our Sherman newsroom to produce and edit our two hour local morning newscast every weekday. This is a full-time, behind-the-scenes position working directly under the news director and morning anchors. You'll learn the ropes from an experienced, award-winning news team, and you’ll help put together the market’s top-rated newscast.  General responsibilities will be producing and editing a daily two hour morning newscast, having strong news writing (broadcast and digital) and video editing skills.  You will coordinate with reporters in the field and on live shots, operate a teleprompter, post news stories online, update stations social media platform, monitoring police scanner traffic and occasionally shoot and cover breaking/spot overnight news.  The right candidate will be a strong news writer and video editor, a competent problem-solver, a quick thinker, and a good communicator. Must work well under pressure and on deadline. Knowledge of electronic news gathering & non-linear editing required. Knowledge of digital news writing and social media preferred. Some newsroom experience is preferred, but not required. Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred. To apply please click on link below.
